GCSC Seminar: Using the Wasatch Environmental Observatory to engage in Water resource research, Education, and Outreach

WEO water studies since 2014 have focused on assessing water supply and water quality using stable isotope techniques, long-term discharge records, and hydrochemistry. These studies have been informed by needs of community partners and sometimes completed as part of coursework highlighting ‘campus as a living lab’. Newer green infrastructure facilities on campus build upon almost a decade of in-stream and groundwater research. We present data showing the ecosystem services provided by these facilities,  such as water and nutrient retention, and how these data are being incorporated into K-12 STEM curricula throughout Utah.
