Food Systems

The need to feed the global population with healthy sustainably-sourced food presents one of the major challenges of the future. Food systems are intricately linked to social and economic justice as well as complex resources issues such as water and energy. The food that we eat and the processes that are utilized to produce, transport, and distribute that food all have a significant impact on the environment and social well-being. Researchers at the University of Utah are working to understand how to best develop local and global healthy and sustainable food systems.
